MultiCare Inter-Schools Basketball Competition for March 3-4

The MultiCare Inter-Schools Basketball Competition gets underway at the Breezy Castle Centre sports complex in Downtown Kingston on Wednesday, March 3 and ends the following day, March 4.

Over 400 boys and girls will compete in the two-day mixed teams competition with the 10-12 age group on Wednesday, and the 13 - 15 and 16-18 age groups on Thursday.
The competition is open to children from the 31 MultiCare-assisted schools in east, west and central Kingston, and Greater Portmore.

In addition to the basketball competition, the MultiCare Foundation Sports Programme hosts annual inter-schools competitions in football, volleyball, netball and track & field.
MultiCare Inter-Schools Sports Competitions promote peaceful coexistence, tolerance and understanding among children from diverse communities, and different backgrounds.
Special emphasis is placed on the MultiCare Sports fundamentals of discipline,
responsibility, personal hygiene, self esteem, and love and respect for self and others.
Committed to inner city youth, the MultiCare Foundation adopts a holistic approach to child development, and is endowed by Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited, Caribbean Cement Company Limited and ICD Group Limited.

 

 

 

Records shattered at Gibson Relays
Spectators were treated to some fast running and smooth baton exchanges at the 28th staging of the highly recognised Gibson Relays meet at the National Stadium last Saturday.

JaBA focuses on youth programme
The Jamaica Basketball Association (JaBA) has once again moved to broaden the sport across the island and is presently taking steps to have a youth programme throughout Jamaica.
